Huge update. The news are:
First of all, album "In Peace..?" is almost finished. Unfortunately, because of the economical crisis in Russia, the release of the album will be delayed. God knows when situation will change, but let's keep our fingers crossed. Here's what the man himself has to say about this:
New album "In Peace..?" will be released this autumn on CD and MC, on the same label - MetalAgen Productions. It will be hopefully distributed in the USA, Canada, Australia. More countries on the way also. Unfortunately the release is delayed due to the political and economical crisis in Russia.
Now it's the time for the good news. Remember Paul D.? (the man on drums in Melissa's first album "In Mourning". Remember the incredible drums in "HATE") Well, sounds like he's back! See for yourself:
Paul D., the original drummer, will be joining the band for the show on "Rock against the drugs" festival on September 25th. It is possible that Paul will stay as a permanent band member.
I think that this is related to the fact, that Melissa's current drummer is touring in the USA with a country rock band. Nevertheless, he will be back in the end of october.
Also, the band is intensively rehearsing the new material. The new stuff is more of a melodical metal genre, and this time all the band members fully participate in writing and arranging the music. This means we won't have to wait THAT long till the new album comes out after "In Peace..?"!!!
"In Peace..?" has been reviewed (the demos trax that is) on Soundscape Magazine.
Nikolay is supporting few young local (Obninsk) bands as he told me:
we (melissa) will be writing new material as soon as i come back, plus i myself will produce two or three recordings of our domestic young metal bands varying from black/death/doom to punk
Sounds section has been redesigned a bit. (TREPANATION (HEAVY METAL) has been added as well. more to follow).
I will redesign the lyrics (and the rest) of the pages as soon as I get back from 1 week holyday.
Just to give you the basic idea what the cover of the new album will look like, here's black and white snapshot. Work is still in progress.

What's going on ? I am updating the page again ??? ;)
Anyhow, I have some more news for you, people:
First off, we (Nick and me) are thinking about moving the pages once again
(heheehe). Dont worry though, it will not affect You at all, as long as you
remember our magic URL - listen.to/melissa
This url will always point to Melissa's official homepage.
Few good things about our probable new server is that we will be able to
have MP3s online. and we wouldnt have to worry about any advertisement. goods in other words.
The gig, Melissa performed on Sunday was OK (from words of Nick). Good for us (them) ;)
Few pages were tampered with to make them look better (sounds.html for instance).

Another update. 3 months later. I have finally received the demo tape with Melissa's new album - "In Peace..?" What can I say ?
It's great ! There're many new things to Melissa's current performace compared to their first album. Overall, new album sounds more professional (even non-mastered version). Good use of keyboards, special effects... Lyrics is on the edge as usual - texts are very good (there's some kind of progress - necessary part of band's life.
I've sampled few songs from the new album. Unfortunately, FortuneCity (the host of this site) has changed it's policies (once again) - all files are limited in size. Maximum size of one file is 1 megabyte. Which means that I simply cannot put the songs in the best sampling quality on this site, due to big size. I've done my best to get the maximum out of this limit - new songs sampled just to fit this limit.
Melissa had a concert yesterday (i hope). first time after 4 years they've been playing
in their hometown - Obninsk. I wish them luck ;) here's what Nick has to say:
June 2nd NEWS.
MELISSA will play in Obninsk on June 7th.
We have not played there for 4 years and expect a big audience.
Only those who will name the list of the songs in a correct order that MELISSA will perform will see the show for FREE.

P.S. Also, some news from the other site. Just to finish off the complete transition of the pages to this location (attention, bookmark the URL="listen.to/melissa". Just in case we'll move on some other server (which is quite possible, since we have loads of files to store (mp3s take up too much space) - the commercially hosted site would be a good solution)):

More detailed info on these songs you can find from the old news (scroll down). Unfortunately, the disk with "Chaotic hatred" have been lost... Hopefully guys will find the disk soon, but most likely MELISSA will have to make another remix of famous HATE. As I was told, there're plans to make this techno remix even heavier than original variant of HATE-2. Time will tell...
Album still has to be mastered. So, approximate date of final release is late April of this year. As usual there are no promises or anything like that, MELISSA is the professional heavy metal band and therefore they want to make their album as good as possible. and that will take some time. But hang on to yer helmets - time is coming. it's about the time to think are we In Peace..?

Well, as webmaster of this page, I have to apologise to you, our dear viewers. I wasnt able to update this page for so long, because of my personal business (i was moving to Sydney, hey ;) But now, I'm finally setteled down and ready to continue my work as part of the Melissa team (not band, unfortunately, yet :) (we have some plans though, but they're strictly secret). Anyway, let me get back to the news.

There's a new URL of this site. WAIT, dont panic. you can still use old one (on fortunecity) - it doesnt really matter, but to remember - all you have to memorise is "listen.to/melissa". Type it in your browser and feel the power. How hardcore is that ?

NEW interview with Nick T. (guitars, vocals)

I am glad to report that MELISSA started workin on a new album.
The recording session will take place in at least two studios in
MELISSA hometown moving probably to Moscow afterwards for mastering
the album. New album will contain much of the keyboards. MELISSA will
use more computers this time and hopefully this will not have a
negative effect on both sound quality and fans opinion.
